M-R lives in Ottawa, Ontario. She joined BeeSewcial in 2016 and has been an active (though often tardy) member since. She loves the creative challenge each prompt brings and especially loves the design process of putting the tops together.

She made her first quilt while she was in university. She had a tiny room, but wanted a double bed and needed storage space for her clothes and ringette equipment (yes, it wasn't the prettiest smelling room). She couldn’t find a double captain’s bed anywhere, and being the stubborn person she is, she designed and made one IKEA-style. After she made the bed, she thought it would be fun and fitting to make what went on the bed too. So she went to the library, found a book on quilts to make in a weekend (ha ha), bought some fabric that was on sale (polycotton!), and started an absolutely awful and incorrect Irish Chain quilt. She loved it anyway and it adorned her bed for a number of years. Many years later, she realized that it actually isn't even close to being an Irish Chain. She has no idea what happened. She considers it to be her first original design. ;)

M-R is one of the co-founders of the Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild and the current President.
